Modhera Sun Temple: Your first stop is the magnificent Sun Temple at Modhera, built in 1026 AD by King Bhimdev I of the Solanki dynasty. Dedicated to the Sun God, Surya, the temple is designed so that the first rays of the sun fall on the deity during the equinox. Marvel at the Surya Kund, a massive stepped deep tank featuring 108 miniature shrines. Explore the Sabha Mandap (Assembly Hall) and the Guda Mandap (Main Shrine), known for their pillars depicting scenes from the Ramayana and Mahabharata.
