Gokul and Vrindavan Day Trip From Agra
UP8007
Take a beautiful spiritual journey to the towns where Lord Krishna spent his childhood with an Agra to Gokul and Vrindavan day trip. Located just an hour from Agra, this same-day tour offers a peaceful and deeply cultural experience away from the busy city. You will start your day in Gokul, the quiet town where Krishna was secretly raised, before heading to the vibrant temple city of Vrindavan. From the sacred sands of Raman Reti to the stunning evening lights of Prem Mandir, this carefully planned itinerary lets you experience the rich mythology, local traditions, and pure devotion of the region in a single, relaxed day.
The itinerary:
Start your day with a comfortable morning pick-up from your hotel or railway station in Agra. Settle into your private vehicle for a quick 1-hour drive to Gokul, crossing the Yamuna River.
- Gokul & Nand Bhavan: Upon reaching Gokul, meet your local expert guide. Start your tour at Nand Bhavan (also known as Chaurasi Khamba temple), believed to be the home of Krishna’s foster father, Nandbaba, where Krishna spent his infancy. Walk through the narrow, historic lanes and visit Brahmand Ghat, the exact spot by the river where the young Krishna is said to have revealed the entire universe in his mouth to his mother, Yashoda.
- Raman Reti: Next, take a short drive to the sacred sands of Raman Reti. This peaceful, tree-lined sanctuary is where Lord Krishna used to play in the sand with his brother Balarama. You will see devotees rolling in the holy sand to seek blessings.
- Lunch & Leisure: Since most temples in this region strictly close during the afternoon, this is the perfect time to enjoy a relaxed lunch. Head to a local restaurant to enjoy a traditional, pure vegetarian North Indian meal.
- Vrindavan & Banke Bihari Temple: After lunch, take a short 30-minute drive to the neighboring town of Vrindavan. As the temples reopen in the late afternoon, head straight to the highly revered Banke Bihari Temple. Experience the incredible energy of the singing devotees and the unique tradition where the curtain before the deity is repeatedly opened and closed.
- ISKCON & Prem Mandir: Continue your tour to the peaceful ISKCON Temple. Conclude your sightseeing at the stunning Prem Mandir (Temple of Divine Love). Built entirely of white marble, this massive temple looks spectacular in the early evening when it is illuminated with colorful, changing lights.
- Return Journey: After a deeply fulfilling and spiritual day, say goodbye to your guide and start your quick return journey to Agra. You will be dropped off at your designated location by mid-evening.
